Kailash Satyarthi is one of the tallest leaders and the loudest voice in the global fight against exploitation of children. He left a lucrative career as an Electrical Engineer and started ‘Bachpan Bachao Andolan’ (Save the Childhood Movement) to rescue children and their families from unimaginable struggles of slavery and to bring them to mainstream society. It is as good as working for the future of this country!!! Currently he leads many global initiatives for children!

I will be back for sure!

He walked fast. He could not find anything interesting. He just wanted to get out! He just rushed.

“Papa, did you read the quote of Captain Vikram Batra?” Elder son anxiously asked him.

“What is so special about it?” He asked his son.

“It moved me, Papa!” His son looked serious and pointed to a poster.

His son’s face pushed him to read it!

“Either I will come back after hoisting the tricolor, or

I will come back wrapped in it,

but I will be back for sure.”

Capt. Vikram Batra.

He looked at his son. His face was still illuminating!!

Captain Vikram Batra, PVC (9 September 1974 – 7 July 1999) was an officer of the Indian Army, posthumously awarded with the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest and most prestigious award for valour, for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War in Kashmir between India and Pakistan. He led one of the toughest operations in mountain warfare in Indian history. He was often referred to as ‘’Sher Shah’’ (“Lion King”) in the intercepted messages of the Pakistan Army.

Paalam KalyanaSundaram – A man took unusual road to happiness!

Dear Friends,

Some of you may be knowing Sri. Paalam Kalyana Sundaram. If you do not know, here we go!

Let’s start with a crisp and short video. It is a must watch and takes just 3 min 9 seconds.

He started sharing most of his earnings for children and needy in the society. He imbibed this and internalized from a very early stage of his life. Later, he started spending all his earnings to the noble cause of supporting the needy in the society.

He believes, when we live for others, that is when we get the ultimate happiness in life. Also he says, compassion/love is the key to do it.

There are many organizations acknowledged his work , including….

“Outstanding People of 20th Century” – by UNO

Rajinikanth adopted him as his father!

“Top 10 Librarians in the world”

“Man of the Millennium” – By an US organization (INR 30Crores that he got from this award is fully given for charity)

“Life time Service” Award – Rotary Club

“Best Librarian of India” – Govt of India

“One of the noblest of the world” – International Biographical Centre, Cambridge…

…many more!

All those accolades do not influence his strong desire to support the world, even at the age of 76…., all that just motivations for many others in this world to know about his noble work and be part of it!

For  me, you can see a real human with humanity and love in him!

Have a nice day!

Want to know/join his initiatives:

Keep Smiling and Keep Shining….

Because, you may have her in you!

neerja_bhanot_1963_-_1986_wiki_fairuse

I came to know about her recently….thanks to the movie Neerja! Later, I tried to know her a bit more, and bit more….she just amazed me!

A girl born in Chandigarh, brought up in Mumbai and grown to a great human to inspire many!neerja_poster_wiki_fairusage

People can talk about presence of mind, courage and compassion. However, when the real situation comes, many forget or get puzzled.

In case, if you face a situation where you may be killed at any moment, how can you care many fellow human and be compassionate? Rather, we tend to save self!

She never did speeches on courage, compassion and commitment, but when she was put into the real situation in front of guns and terrorists…Oh, salute you – You saved 359 lives out of 379 on board passengers on Pan Am Flight 73.

You had chances to leave behind some of them and still save you…but..

….. finally you gave your life at a very young age of 22….to save 3 American Children!

ashoka_chakra_award_wiki_fair

For her bravery, the Government of India posthumously awarded Neerja Bhanot,  Ashoka Chakra Award, India’s highest gallantry award for bravery in the face of the enemy during peace time. She is the youngest recipient and the first woman recipient of this award

"Her loyalties to the passengers of the aircraft
in distress will forever be a lasting tribute
to the finest qualities of the human spirit."

You showed the world, the power and value of a young woman...what she can do even when the guys ran away from the scene! You left everlasting inspiration to many.

I am sure, those 3 children, now youngsters would have imbibed you as their guiding light…

Even when you were dying, you conveyed a message ‘Keep Smiling….’

Yes let’s keep smiling and keep you (Courage,Compassion and Commitment) in our heart and brain.

Thank you for saving so many lives,

Thank you for making us proud,

Thank you for that inspiring smile…

Alok Sir, how could you do this? I touch your feet!

Do you know Dr. Alok Sagar?

Qualificiation (according to common norms of our society):

  • Engineering Degree from IIT Delhi
  • Master and PhD from Rice University Houston, TX, USA in 1977
  • His ex-students include previous Indian RBI Governor  Raghuram Rajan

Qualificiation which he likes and live with:

  • More than 25 years living and working with tribal people in Betul and Hoshangabad districts of Madhyapradesh as one of them!alok-sagar_from_yourstory

He did not, and did not want to reveal his ‘qualified’ identity. He thought, that is insignificant for his current life. So, more than 25 years, people did not know about ‘him’.He worked with Shramik Adivasi Sangathan to uplift people in those remote villages where no proper roads, no electricity or no facility for education. He lived with tribal people there, planted more than 50,000 trees, started educating kids and became one among them.

Recently, the district administration had doubts on him and said to him to leave the village due to security reasons. Hence, Alok Sagar was forced to reveal his past. It was shocking and unbelievable for them and whole world.

One way, that helped all of us to know that there are still such noble souls around to make this world more beautiful place to live; esp when we see more of artificial beauty these days!

He was not just another social activist or volunteer who sacrificed his life. He just showed us, how one should value and evaluate his/her life independently. One of the videos, the reporter asks multiple times about his past career, how was his IIT, PhD etc…He just told, it is not relevant now, so cannot tell about it. It shows his sharp view on his life and its purpose!

“In India, people are facing so many problems,
but people are busy proving their intelligence
by showing their degrees rather than
serving people,” Alok told the Hindustan Times.

This person can definitely spark the sleeping goodness in each of us, each of those millions around us…! Keep getting inspired,  does not matter how much! After all, without little fingers, the hand is incomplete!!

Thank you !

Bob Dylan is the recipient of the 2016 Nobel prize for literature for “having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition”.

bob_dylan_google_labelled_reuse

Till I got this information through one of my friends in whatsapp, I did not know about Bob Dylan! 😦

I listen english music very rarely, more precisely, only when someone forcefully recommend a song. (Like my son forced me to listen Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never Again!)

I realized that Bob Dylan is an American songwriter, singer, artist, and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades!

More than five decades….what a miss! 🙂

My friend also shared a song from Bob Dylan – “Blowin’ In The Wind”. Actually, after listening to that song, I decided to check about the person! Wow, excellent one and a must listen!

If you can spare 2 minutes and 38 seconds, please listen the song. You will like it! Click here to listen in youtube!

…now if you are interested to know more about Bob Dylan….visit http://bobdylan.com/ 🙂

I have decided to listen some more songs from Bob Dylan, yes without anyone forcing me!

Reality is Reality!

PaulKalanidhiStoryMathubhumi

Read about Paul Kalanithi again; his story of realization of his life, through the negotiations with his death. Not read his book When Breath Becomes air…But that title says a lot.

I picked  Paul and his book during our usual chat with my wife and showed the above article from a Malayalam news daily1.  During our conversation, I was browsing her mobile and stuck at a like mail to her new blog ‘live like a tourist’. It forced me to have a look at it. To my shock, the topic was on the similar soul!

She did not notice that I was reading her mobile. After glancing through her blog, I told her that just now I read a similar topic (as Paul’s story)!.

She became curious…I showed her blog! She smiled..a smile with an unknown feeling!
