Why the gate is not opened? It is only 20 minutes left!!
He bent his fingers restlessly.
The clock was so lazy. His heart was over-clocking. Dripping sweat!
“Uncle, are you ok?”The little pretty girl was staring at him.
“Am….i am…..oo k…”
“You are sweating Uncle! Don’t be tensed!”
“Am….i am…..oo k…” “Close your eyes and look at that beautiful sky”
“Wha…..t…? Close the eyes…? and look at the beauty of the sky…? that too inside the airport….?”He could not resist airing his valid doubt!
“Granny used to tell me whenever I feel sad…That is what I do. It works!”
“m…” He just did respond!
Actually, uncle, if you close your eyes..you can see anything right?”
He looked at her innocence! “Yes, Granny!”
He could reply so lightly and it lightened her already bright pebbly eyes…!He obliged Granny’s advice!
He closed his eyes!
…Pinky’s nose and hands are attached with narrow white tubes; Life tubes! The colorful display was blinking above her head. Yes, blinking fast! Pinky looks so white in that white hospital dress and bedsheets! No one around?!
“Aravind, I am there, Don’t worry..!” Diya! Yes, she cannot leave Pinky.Diya will be with her always…around; Life holding strength!!
He could touch Pinky’s tired fingers…He sat near her!She is sleeping, yet singing her favorite rhyme!
He looked at her nose again….then looked up…wow, the sky is so beautiful….deep and infinite! Sparkling Diya, among the stars….caressing Pinky!! Sweat disappeared; clock and heart running normally.
He was not sleeping, but he fled!
“Uncle, the gate is opened! Let’s go!”
“Oh, yeah, the gate is opened!”
“Thank you, Granny…!”
He bowed to her!
She smiled, waved her hands, and ran towards her Granny! The flight was ready to take everyone to the destination!
Thank You God and All who enabled us to get water for all the needs!! 🙏
Dear Friends, happened to see this blog on water! Whether we realize our not, it’s going to tough for generations to come if we are not sensible!! So if you love your kids, please save water in all possible ways, whenever, wherever!!
Before getting I didn’t know!
After getting they amaze me!
Don’t want to lose…
Small word, yet deep…
A warm shell around me;
In rain, sun or storm;
I write that over n over.
A word powers me
Day in, day out,
Smiles and shines..
Short, yet long…
Yell it loud!
Wrote as a reply to a good morning message from my friend Balaji :
“Everything is valuable
In two situations,
First, before getting it,
Second, after losing it,
In between we dont
Realize the vale of anything!”
Thanks to my friend Balaji again for triggering me writing that word thrice and more – Friends! 🙂
Younger Brother was really hesitant to come for the family event.
“Bro, she will be alone if I come. Moreover, there aren’t many houses or neighbours nearby. I am a bit worried. Please excuse…” He was anxious about his wife.
Elder gave enough confidence and “logical & practical” reasoning.
“Hey, she is not a kid and can manage alone. Moreover, our workers are there, right? Don’t worry. Your presence is very important for the event.”
Finally younger came!
“Ho, she will be alone! Without me she cannot manage anything. Also, she is not very close to neighbouring families in the apartment! I can’t leave her alone bro.” Elder brother was really tensed about his wife.
Younger brother recollected, but did not remind. He thought, realization cannot be forced!
Let us pause for a while, especially before giving a “logical & practical” reasoning! Each situation can be subtle and deep for others, beyond our reasoning!
He walked fast. He could not find anything interesting. He just wanted to get out! He just rushed.
“Papa, did you read the quote of Captain Vikram Batra?” Elder son anxiously asked him.
“What is so special about it?” He asked his son.
“It moved me, Papa!” His son looked serious and pointed to a poster.
His son’s face pushed him to read it!
“Either I will come back after hoisting the tricolor, or
I will come back wrapped in it,
but I will be back for sure.”
– Capt. Vikram Batra.
He looked at his son. His face was still illuminating!!
CaptainVikram Batra,PVC(9 September 1974 – 7 July 1999) was an officer of theIndian Army, posthumously awarded with theParam Vir Chakra, India’s highest and most prestigious award for valour, for his actions during the 1999Kargil WarinKashmirbetweenIndiaandPakistan. We just returned after a week-long vacation in Ooty (will add a travelogue soon!:). It was a refreshing break for all of us. However, the drive back was a bit tiring. Reached late evening. Soon we all realized – the next day the lil one is becoming 6 years. Within another 2 days, the elder will turn 13yrs…Birthday days ahead! 😉
Quickly we decided to have time with some of our friends in Sneha Care Home. Father Jaison was more than happy to welcome us! We reached there by lunchtime; even if the boys were really tired, they could make it happen! 😉
Though the number of kids was less due to vacation, they arranged a lovely surprise for both the boys! A cake and lovely flowers! The group birthday wish was icing on the cake. I noticed a shining light on birthday boys’ face when they heard the group song for them! 🙂
At times, very small things can make a very big impact in your life!
Thanks to Father Jaison for making it really heartful birthday for our boys…We felt blessed.
We had lunch with them and later went to see their candle making unit. They were busy in the process of completing 1000 numbers of special gift candles for a marriage. Father Biju showed us the process of candle making. They are trying to market it better so as to support inhabitants with an earning from their skills and work.
There was another cool surprise for the boys waiting! Father Biju and Father Jaison quickly arranged very nice birthday gifts for the boys….beautiful fragrant candles!!
Later we spent some time in the garden and the boys enjoyed plucking mangoes! The birthday became very special this time, a blessed one! 🙂

We have been associating with Sneha Care for 2+yrs…

Some of our friends, this time decided to spend a day with people who are underprivileged (economically and hence socially!). So we decided to visitHome of Hope in Bangalore.
Before we talk about the day, let me introduce Hope Of Hope.
In the midst of a lot of privileges (economically and hence socially), most of us are busy chasing things we really don’t need in life; some of us start thinking about the reality of life but don’t know what to do; a few of us support financially for social causes without bothering about the end result; a very few of us find dedicated time in a consistent manner and respond to social needs for our fellow human…and very rarely one emerges to dedicate life to them – Auto Raja is one such soul! On a contrary, he was not enjoying all the so-called privileges of an urban life, (maybe) hence, he responded to the needy on the streets. He started accommodating such people suffering from unbelievable anguish, in his own small house, way back in 1997 under the name ‘New Ark Mission India (NAMI)’. He wanted to provide them, at least the basic needs – food, shelter, clothes and medicine; on top of all – some dignity in life…at least a respectful death!! Hence Home of Hope!
Today, it has 3 different wings – for men, for ladies and for kids – and almost 750 inhabitants!!!They all enjoy a better life at Home of Hope, with new little hopes in life!
We reached there in the morning and visited the ladies wing first.
We spend time talking to some of them. Many of them are physically and mentally ill and were thrown to the hard test in the streets….different stories of family and social brutality they faced before reaching Home of Hope.
We next visited kids wing. Kids were playing as it is a no school day! Some kids were disabled and need help to even move around. Many of them came to us and they wanted us to talk, carry them and play with them….Yeah, they don’t get that on an everyday basis! We distributed some snacks for them and spent some time with them.
We had arranged special lunch for all the friends in Hope of Hope. Along with Home of Hope team, we distributed lunch. We started lunch distribution at Men’s wing. Some students from a nearby college also joined us. There were more than 300 men of different ages at Men’s wing. Same story as Ladies wing – physically and mentally changed, some of them even can’t respond or eat food by themselves.
We joined in serving food for Ladies and kids later.
We ensured to reserve some snacks for their evening tea.
Smiling faces….it left some nice feeling in all of us when we returned. Hats off to Auto Raja and Team Home of Hope! Thanks to my friends and my lil boys who joined and spent the whole day together with them!
A day with some differences….and also a thought – we must do better in a consistent way!
